What is non medical disability?

A non medical disability refers to a condition or impairment that is not caused by a physical or medical condition. It may include mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, or other psychological disorders, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, or developmental disorders. Non medical disabilities can affect an individual's ability to perform everyday tasks, interact with others, or maintain employment without reasonable accommodations. These disabilities may be covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which prohibits discrimination based on disabilities in employment, housing, and public accommodations. The ADA recognizes both physical and non medical disabilities as disabilities, and employers and service providers are required to provide reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities to ensure equal access and opportunity.
